Shipping heavy equipment like excavators, bulldozers, or graders internationally requires meticulous preparation. Failure to comply with port standards can result in rejected cargo and costly delays.

1. Maximum Cleanliness is Mandatory

The most common reason for cargo rejection is soil contamination. Ports in North America, Europe, and Australia have strict biosecurity laws.

• Undercarriage: Remove all caked mud and debris.
• Engine Bay: Steam clean to remove grease and oil leaks.
• Cab: Vacuum out all dirt and remove personal items.

2. Fluid Management

For RORO (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping, units must be drivable, but fuel levels are regulated.

• Fuel: Tank should be no more than 1/4 full.
• Hydraulics: Check for leaks. Leaking units may be refused or incur cleanup fees.

3. Documentation Checklist

Ensure you have the valid Original Bill of Sale and the Title (if applicable). For units without titles, a notarized Bill of Sale is critical for customs clearance.
